Our History

Owner & Certified Welder

Bezates Construction was founded in 1982 by George Bezates in Ontario, Oregon. At its founding, Bezates Construction specialized in underground utilities, however, the company quickly grew until jobs ranging from heavy-civil underground to technical pump stations became the norm. From humble roots, Bezates Construction began working on sewer pump stations, schools, river crossings, and roadwork. With dedication, perseverance, and guts, Bezates Construction became a noteworthy heavy civil underground company across Eastern Oregon, Idaho and eventually grew to service Western Oregon and Washington.

After a short attempt at retirement (some people are born to work), George, along with his son Nick and wife McKenzie, resurrected the company in the Portland Metro area. Today, we are a small, niche-based company taking on small to mid-size jobs that are generally technical, challenging, and involve thinking outside the box.  George and Nick bring over 75 years of combined experience in excavation, mechanical, welding, and fabrication.  Their knowledge and experience span many scopes of work. Coupled with a fleet of niche specialty equipment, Bezates Construction can meet the needs of just about any project.
